Bernie Sanders will filibuster an override of President Donald Trump’s defense bill veto unless the Senate holds a vote on providing $2,000 direct payments to Americans...Under Senate rules, Sanders has the ability to keep the chamber in during the holiday week and likely mess with the campaign schedules of Sens. David Perdue (R-Ga.) and Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.). Those two face Jan. 5 runoff races for control of the Senate against Democrats Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, who are both campaigning on the $2,000 checks.

The woman who cut my hair an hour ago, who is a Republican, went bonkers when I told her, “Well, the democrats want you to have a 2000 dollar check for you and your husband, and Nancy even agrees with Trump, and all the Dems are voting for it. But, the problem is Mitch McConnell and the GOP are stopping it!”

Omg, she almost came unglued. She’s a big Trumper. “This just can’t be, democrats are for me ? And, are working with Trump ? I thought Trump gets the final say so !! You mean Mitch McConnell gets say so over Trump ?

Well, I said in this case he will. Then she said,, No, there must be something hiding in there the democrats did to cause us not to get those 2000 dollar checks !!! It’s their faults, just has to be !

He is no longer relevant and he knows it. He's grandstanding.

This entire thing is a no win scenario for Republicans at large. Mitch will never, ever let it come to a vote. There was never any chance of that happening. And Bernie can't filibuster a damn thing because he doesn't have the support to do it from the rest of the senate democrats.
