Stephen K. Bannon, a onetime senior aide to former President Donald J. Trump, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Friday on two counts of contempt of Congress, after his refusal to provide information to the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.

Mr. Bannon, 67, had declined last month to comply with subpoenas from the committee seeking testimony and documents from him. The House then voted to hold Mr. Bannon in criminal contempt of Congress.

After holding Mr. Bannon in contempt, the House referred the matter to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington for a decision on whether to prosecute him.

Shit. I just got in and my uncle told me about it and I came to post it. I have to admit I never thought it would happen. I can't wait to see what his bail is.

I just saw it this morning on the news while I was replying to @IconCharlie post.

I have to admit: I'm surprised. I really didn't think Garland was going to do a damn thing. Based on that, I would be pretty damn nervous if I was Mark Meadows. He didn't show up yesterday like he was supposed to.

We should know I think by Monday what's going to happen with that. Congress being the spineless worms they are will probably call him and give him a chance to "change his mind" and show up rather than simply refer him to Garland as well.

They're both misdemeanor charges guys. He'd be in a much bigger world of shit if he didn't show up for a speeding ticket hearing.
