First day of school today. A out to go wake my son. Wondering what level of moaning and gnashing of teeth there will be.

It actually wasn't that bad. The bus was late, but other than that so far so good.

Yes. Gwinnett County has a mask mandate in place. Everybody has to wear one. And yes, the republicans are out there demonstrating against it because free-dumb.

Is this his first year?

Oh no. But it's the first day he's been back to school in over a year. The last day he was actually in class was March of 2020 when he was in the 1st grade. The rest of that school year was done at home. His entire 2nd grade year was done at home remotely.

So he left school just over half way through 1st grade and is just now returning to start the 3rd grade.

Gotcha. My grandson started primary (kindergarten) last year. They did have a 7 week period of 'home schooling' but returned for about a week or so at the end.
