Maricopa County Board Decries ‘Grift Disguised as an Audit’

The GOP-dominated Maricopa County Board of Supervisors blasted the controversial recount of the county’s 2020 presidential election results, calling for the Republican-led state Senate to end the “grift disguised as an audit” on Monday night. The five-member board, which is composed of four Republicans, said the audit that has been cheered on by former President Donald Trump is a “spectacle that is harming all of us.”​

The person in charge of certifying the Arizona results said this:

Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer responded to accusations by Trump that his county had deleted the election database. “Wow. This is unhinged. I’m literally looking at our voter registration database on my other screen. Right now,” Richer tweeted Saturday. “We can’t indulge these insane lies any longer. As a party. As a state. As a country. This is as readily falsifiable as 2+2=5. If we don’t call this out.”​

The thing was a laughing stock to begin with. You hire a company from here (Florida) where Trump lives that nobody has ever heard of to recount votes for Trump? How fucking stupid do you have to be to not see that whole thing is a grift?
