And very, very quietly, John H. Durham leaves office.

He may have resigned as an attorney but has he closed up shop as a special council?

No, I meant that as something the 'republicans' may say in an attempt to further discredit Biden and the dems
They're the last people I think would make a big deal about it. After all, it is they who hired him to "find all this evidence" and he found nothing.

For them, the more quietly he goes away, the better.

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. Attorney John Durham said Friday that he will resign from his position as the top federal prosecutor in Connecticut but is remaining as a special counsel to oversee the Justice Department’s investigation into the origins of the Russia probe that shadowed Donald Trump’s presidency.

Durham will resign from his post as U.S. attorney for Connecticut on Monday. But Durham, who was appointed in October by then-Attorney General William Barr as a special counsel to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia probe, will remain in that capacity.

I was reading an earlier article (2019-2020) that Barr had set this up so a report had to be produced at the end. it's why I was curious if the republicans were spin doctoring this yet.

Well, they're not saying anything. Neither is he.

All that was ever found to this day is one guy changed one thing on an email. He plead guilty to it and got a years probation. That's it. That's all they've ever found.

That's what I was wondering. If he was still special council. Problem is he can milk that damn job out forever. There's no telling how long he'll keep that shit going even when he knows good and damn well there's nothing to find. I also think you're right that it's only a matter of time before the Trumptards start calling it more deep state shit that he didn't find anything. Especially once he closes shop. If he ever does.

Well, in his final court case it's not going well as John Durham starts impeaching his own witness on redirect right out of the gate.

What an absolute joke and waste of money his entire appointment has been.

Wow

Durham brought up the previously unknown fact that Auten was “recommended for suspension” by the FBI’s internal auditors – which wasn’t even mentioned by the defense. Auten acknowledged the recommendation, which he said is under appeal. Lawyers often bring up a witness’ past misconduct or punishments as a way to attack their credibility – but in this case, it was the prosecutor seemingly impeaching his own witness.
