In 1970, students in a fifth grade class at Hawthorne Elementary School in Beverly Hills, California were told to write a letter to someone they admired, asking them "What makes a good citizen?" Joel Lipton, 10 years old at the time, wrote to Peanuts cartoonist Charles Schulz.

Here is Schulz reply to that letter:

It is to me now as well. It was a Twitter post that somebody has since deleted. It was of a beagle puppy snuggling with a newborn baby and the caption was: Snoopy and Charlie Brown, the early days.
