Damn. It was a hell of a stand.


The battle for Mariupol's massive Azovstal steel plant appears to be nearing an end, after hundreds of the remaining Ukrainian soldiers holding out in the facility were evacuated overnight.
 
According to my father-in-law, it was one of the many shelters constructed under the Soviet Union that was made to withstand a ground zero nuclear bomb. They could bomb that place for months with conventional weapons and it's not going to do anything but redistribute the already blown to bits outer building pieces.

A court in Kyiv has found 21-year-old Russian soldier Vadim Shishimarin guilty of war crimes and sentenced him to life in prison.

Shishimarin is the first Russian soldier to be sentenced for war crimes since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
