Justice Stephen Breyer will step down from the Supreme Court at the end of the current term, according to people familiar with his thinking.

Breyer is one of the three remaining liberal justices, and his decision to retire after more than 27 years on the court allows President Joe Biden to appoint a successor who could serve for decades and, in the short term, maintain the current 6-3 split between conservative and liberal justices.

Just saw that. It'll no doubt turn into a shit show in quick order. Biden has already decided to pick a woman and word around the camp fire is that it'll be a black woman.

And Sinema and Manchin will prevent any of them from getting in.

Yep. Here it is:

I tell you, I just don't agree with how Biden has gone about appointing people. He's played darts with demographics. Every opening that comes up and even when he was filling his cabinet positions, the question was never: Who is the best person for this job?

It was a matter of: OK, now we need to find an oriental person, preferably a woman.

Or: Ok, this position we need to find a transgender.

Or: Now we need a middle eastern person.

It's never about looking at several people, interviewing them and then deciding who is the most qualified person for the job. It's beyond ridiculous and smacks of pandering because that's exactly what it is. Ridiculous pandering.
